India Launches Fastest Indigenous IP/MPLS Router, Marks Milestone in Digital India Vision

Union Minister for Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, spearheaded the launch of India's fastest and homegrown IP/MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) router in Bengaluru on Saturday. With an impressive capacity of 2.4 tdps, the router marks a significant leap forward in India's technological prowess and underscores the nation's commitment to self-reliance in the realm of digital infrastructure.

Developed through a collaborative effort between the government's Department of Telecom, CDOT, and Nivetti, the indigenous router represents a commendable fusion of innovation and indigenous expertise. Speaking at the momentous launch event, Ashwini Vaishnaw hailed the occasion as a matter of pride for the nation, emphasizing the pivotal role of networking in driving India's Digital India initiatives forward.

Highlighting the critical importance of routers in the digital ecosystem, Vaishnaw underscored the significance of a core router like the one launched, lauding its indigenous design, development, and manufacturing. "As you know, networking is key to entire Digital India efforts. And within networking routers, a core router like this is very, very important. So, I'm so glad that this kind of complex equipment has been designed in India, developed in India, and made in India," expressed Vaishnaw, encapsulating the spirit of innovation and progress driving India's digital transformation.
